Southwest Cheeseburger                        

Total Cooking & Preparation Time:  30 minutes


Ingredients:

1

 

lb ground beef

1/4

 

cup finely chopped green onions

1/2

 

teaspoon ground cumin

 

 

salt and pepper

4 hamburger buns, split and toasted
1/4 cup shredded Mexican cheese blend
1/2 cup chopped tomato

Instructions:

1.

 

Combine ground beef, green onions and cumin in medium bowl, mixing lightly but thoroughly.  Lightly shape into four 1/2-inch thick patties.

2.

 

Place patties on grid cover over medium, ash-covered coals.  Grill, uncovered, 11 to 13 minutes to medium (160 degrees F) doneness, until no longer pink in center and juices show no pink color, turning occasionally.  Season with salt and pepper as desired.

3.

 

Place burger on bottom of each bun; top with cheese and tomato. Close sandwiches.

 

Makes 4 servings.
