Makes 4 Servings



1 pound 80/20 ground beef

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

Salt and pepper

½ red onion

4 slices cheddar cheese

8 slices of bacon

8 glazed donuts


  1. Mix ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper in medium bowl. Lightly shape mixture into ½-inch thick patties.
  2. Place patties on grid over medium, ash-covered coals. Grill, covered, 8 to 10 minutes (over medium heat on preheated gas grill, covered, 7 to 9 minutes) until instant-read thermometer inserted horizontally into center registers 160°F, turning occasionally. While still warm, top each patty with a cheese slice to melt.
  3. Meanwhile, fry bacon in skillet. Place on paper towels when done and pat off grease. Thinly slice red onion.
  4. Place patties on donuts, then top each with two bacon slices and red onion. Top with second donut, and enjoy!

  • Donuts may be sliced in half for bun, rather than using two per burger.
